Backgammon remains a game of skill and strategy, representing one of the world's enduring classic board games, commonly enjoyed both recreationally and gambling-wise. Historically, variants of this game have been traced back to ancient Mesopotamia and Egypt, with later iterations in Roman and Indian cultures. While it once spread to East Asia, it has largely been superseded there by other games such as Xiangqi. Today, it maintains significant popularity across Western countries.
The latest version, updated in June 2023, introduces several notable enhancements:

The AI opponents have been strengthened through dual engine configurations, accommodating seven difficulty levels—adding two new challenges beyond the original five. The application supports full match play with options for Doubling Cube and Crawford rules, multiple visual themes—including four board and piece set choices—and both single-player (vs. computer) and local two-player modes. Additional features include hint systems, statistical insights, and versatile dice input methods—auto-generated, seeded, or manual entry. The user interface is optimized for both tablet and phone devices.
This free edition is ad-supported, with third-party advertisements requiring internet access; data charges may apply. The app requests permissions for photos/media/files to save game data externally and cache ads effectively.
